Are you a Gay?
Dropping my friend at the greyhound station and saying goodbye, shaking his hand, kissing him cheek touching cheek like all the people from my country do usually in these situations as way of saying we will miss you, my friend who has been only in the usa for 3 months, commented take care do not do this again they might think that you are a gay! What the hell I do not care of what they think about me, but I do care of how they see relations and conclude assumptions based on their sexual perverted thinking.
Gay rights, gay marriage and gays in the army are all issues discussed for sure in the USA more then before and there are still people in the usa who are against the gay rights.
In Egypt it never crossed my mind that there are gays in Egypt, well we have to face it, gays are in Egypt, it's on the internet, I even saw some of them came to me in my outpatient clinic mostly accompanied by a family relative asking for help and thinking that it is a an organic disease that goes with medications.
Also in Egypt no one heard of gays in the past except in very limited stories told by people who you usually believe them in 30% of the times. Now in yaakubian film (very famous film 2006) based on a national best seller novel by alla el aswani, two of they main characters are gays.
Whats happening in the USA is also happening in Egypt. Why are we diverting from our nature? Gays has been there since the prophet "loot" as we know from our quraan, however it has never been like these days, it's has never been normal and I believe it will never be normal.
